Low Back Pain

Therapeutic Program

There are several causes of low back pain. Low back pain can be very debilitating, as you well know. Most people in the world suffer low back pain from over lifting, twisting, mis-stepping, bending or something as simple as getting out of a chair.
Most people recover fine from their initial back pain episode on their own. When these episodes occur more often or last longer, there is usually a reason. Left alone, your lower back pain may become much more intense. 90% or more of back pain patients will regain normal function  with physical therapy treatment.
We offer several approaches to treating back pain; one being the McKenzie approach. The McKenzie approach utilizes treatment of posture, gain motion of the spine, and mechanically reducing disc pressure. Our therapists have been very successful with this approach at Twin Rivers Physical Therapy.

Please call Twin Rivers Physical Therapy at 509-758-8510 if you believe you may benefit from the McKenzie therapy program or if you have any questions.

Therapeutic Program

Aquatic therapy or water therapy offer an option for Physical Therapy to the client to whom land based therapy is too painful or stressful. Aquatic therapy uses waters properties to support the body, decrease joint stress and pain, while providing resistance and assistance for movement. This allows a person to receive the benefits of exercise while decreasing pain.

Twin Rivers Physical Therapy provides a aquatic program in an indoor heated pool, with trained professionals, to insure the highest possible level of safety and results. To maintain safe transfer in and out of the pool for more challenged clientele, we have a powerized lifting system

Please call Twin Rivers Physical Therapy at 509-758-8510 if you believe you may benefit from an aquatic therapy program or if you have any questions.
